The URI Office of Strategic Initiatives' Grant Writing Essential Skills Training develops the essential skills needed to successfully secure funding for nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, businesses, or personal causes.
This non-credit, professional development program is open to all, and ideal for:
- Nonprofit staff new to grant writing or seeking foundational skills
- Executive directors and program managers who write grants but lack formal training
- Experienced grant writers seeking to update skills with AI tools and new strategies
- Board members supporting organizational fundraising efforts
- Consultants wanting to strengthen their grant development services
- Anyone needing a quick but comprehensive grant writing refresher
Fall Cohort Dates and Format:
The Grant Writing Essential Skills program is fully virtual, and consists of three 3-hour Zoom sessions.
August 5th, 12th, and 19th
Wednesdays, 4 pm to 7 pm
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a digital badge from the University of Rhode Island Office of Strategic Initiatives.
